New DogWatch ProFence™ w/ R9 Hidden Dog Fence Installed for a Very Good Boy
We had the pleasure of meeting Bernie, a lovable 2-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog with a personality as big as his paws! Bernie lives in Cohoes, NY, where he keeps busy keeping up with the neighborhood kids—and occasionally, finding his way into places he shouldn’t.
? Bernie’s Backyard Adventures
Bernie is sweet, gentle, and incredibly affectionate. One of his favorite pastimes? Playing basketball with the kids next door! But as much fun as he has, that playtime sometimes pulls him a little too far… right into the road.
While Bernie usually stays in the yard, his curious nature occasionally gets the best of him. With mom not feeling well, the last thing she needs is to worry about chasing after their gentle giant. So, her husband Bob gave us a call, and we were happy to help keep Bernie safe where he belongs—with his family.
?️ The Installation: Smooth and Straightforward
For Bernie, we installed a DogWatch ProFence™ system with the R9 receiver—part of our Gold Package—on their ½ acre property in Cohoes. The install was clean and simple, with no major obstacles and an ideal layout for coverage.
This setup gives Bernie plenty of room to roam and play, while giving his family peace of mind knowing he won’t end up in the road or wandering too far again.

This isn’t Bernie’s first experience with a hidden fence. Back when the family was living in Florida, they had an Invisible Fence® system, but it wasn’t exactly a success.

And the service? Let’s just say it left a lot to be desired. Bob shared that their experience with that company in Florida was “a disaster.” They actually wished they had found a DogWatch dealer while they were there.
Before moving south, Bob and his wife had been happy DogWatch customers since 2017. Now that they’re back in the Capital District, they’re back with a system—and service—they trust.
