Winter Hidden Dog Fence Installation in Cambridge, NY

We recently had the pleasure of installing a state-of-the-art ProFenceX hidden fence system for Kathy and Randy at their home in Cambridge, NY. With two large, beautiful dogs and their residence located on a busy road, they were eager to ensure the safety of their pets while enhancing their family's enjoyment of their new yard.
Kathy and Randy recently relocated from Clinton Corners in Dutchess County. Kathy, a retired executive chef, has shifted her focus to the art of baking. Randy works as an engineer for a prominent broadcasting company, where he applies his technical skills to a variety of projects. They chose Top Dog Pet Fence because of our numerous positive customer reviews, the comprehensive DogWatch warranty, and our commitment to serving the local community. In addition to their dogs, they are the proud owners of three beautiful horses named Cera (the matriarch), Domingo, and Eros. When I arrived for the installation, I found Kathy and Randy prepping the paddock for the horses to exercise.
About the pets
Their canine companions are Enzo, a gentle 2-year-old Great Pyrenees, and Winston, a loving 4-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog. Winston, known for his affectionate nature, delights in receiving attention and often rolls onto his back, eagerly inviting belly rubs. Enzo, on the other hand, exhibits a more independent spirit; while friendly, he prefers to explore on his own terms, showcasing his playful personality.
About the installation
This hidden fence installation was unique due to the winter conditions, which presented a series of challenges that differed from our typical installations. With the ground frozen solid, we opted to lay the wire above ground for the winter months, ensuring the integrity of the system until we could return in the spring to bury it properly. A critical aspect of the installation involved securing the wire at the driveway, which was essential for protecting it from potential damage and allowing Kathy and Randy to efficiently clear snow as needed. To accomplish this, we dedicated about an hour to carefully breaking open the driveway and laying conduit, ensuring that the wire would remain safe and secure.
The dogs have recently begun their training program and are responding exceptionally well to the new underground dog fence system. As part of our training protocol, we start with audible-only mode for the initial 7 to 10 days to help the dogs acclimate. Gradually, we introduce stimulation as necessary, guiding them towards understanding their new boundaries. This thoughtful approach ensures a smooth transition for Enzo and Winston into their safe and playful environment.
